So to all those who weren't invited, it's not that I love you any less :( It's just that.... actually I don't have a proper excuse :( I've been a really lousy president, so if anyone is interested in the position, comment in the tag box and I'll bring it up to the board of directors okay? ><

POST-EXAMINATIONS WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME

With almost 80% of students worldwide unaware of their condition, PEW is one of most silent psychological diseases to afflict teenagers today . 

A 2009 study conducted by the International HappyB Society found that 78% of students aged 12-18 felt an inexplicable sense of depression after the end of an exam. The explanation behind these intriguing results remained a mystery until scientists from the Institute of Mental Happiness (IMH) published a journal yesterday on Post-Examintions Withdrawal Syndrome (PEW). 

The team of scientists discovered that the underlying cause of depression felt by the students was not caused by a loss of their sense of purpose, as many had hypothesized but rather, due to the mental conditioning during the pre-examination and examination period that trains them to perceive indulging in leisure activities as something to feel guilty about. Renowned expert on mental happiness and the head of PEW research, Professor Ang Chia See said that "students are so used to feeling guilt when they watch Running Man and Ghost, sleep and play fifa that the sudden change to freedom comes somewhat as a shock to their system" resulting in significant emotional confusion. However she noted that, not unlike frictional unemployment, while the recovery time differs from person to person, PEW is usually a short-term psychological disorder.

There have been several recommendations made in the journal on how to deal with PEW, including sleeping it off and giving yourself a "full blast" of a particular leisure activity, but scientists have yet to come to a consensus on the issue of recovery. Until then, students who are suffering from a severe case of PEW are advised to contact help staff at the International HappyB society.

Ah well! It sure beats the horrible feeling of guilt when I really should be feeling guilty! kkkkkk

A full circle

Hey Spartans! (:

Just wanted to post my feelings about MAF and yknow how it's been such a crazy journey in this awesome term.

Still remember the crazy frenzy of baking food for the seniors until 2am at night. And then sleeping arnd 3-4 hours to go run the next day then rushing to sch to prepare and honestly so much of it was a blur then. The rain, the structure, the cranes (: And of course my hyperventilating at the end hahaha, that was when I probably truly felt we were one family because I still remember how czt was trying to calm me down and how cailing was at one side talking about some scene she was making up on the spot so I woul try to relax and breathe in more air hahaha. And of course all the texts after everyone reached home telling me to relax and sleep more and recover.

And so much has happened between then and now. Our batch has impossibly got even closer to one another (although yeah we are Spartans and nothing is impossible when it comes to us) and we're finding more confidantes in one another, everyone slowly opening up to each other (: I don't think I'll ever be able to find such a huge group of friends where I can honestly say everyone loves everyone and will be there for each other, no questions asked. Where everyone means their smile and laughter and there's no backstabbing and politics and games of I'm-saying-this-but-meaning-that. I guess I'm just so incredibly lucky to have all of you (: and same goes for all of you I hope! (:

Really really excited for Taiwan trip!!! It's only another 2.5 months down the road and omg guys it's really coming true and not a dream we keep in our heads! It's seriously smth I'm working forward to for As, yknow work hard then we can play hard!!! ^^

And I guess this tweet I saw really sums it all up for us! 'One big happy family, someone who makes rainy days seem sunny'

I'll love you guys until the memories of you guys fade (which is never cause I'll have my scrapbook) ^^

Hey Spartans! (: 

Today was MAF'12 hehe time passed so quickly over the past year and its already been a year since our own MAF last year. Honestly everything this year, all the events and traditions and stuff we go for as a batch and with a new position (as seniors) reminds me of what we did last year and how close we thought we already were. Funny right? How we always feel like we're so unbelievably close but the feelings just intensifies itself all the time :P I remember MAF last year being an incredible experience where we went into a frenzy trying to sell our severely overpriced balloons and forcing our friends to buy them for us hahaha. And wulindahui!!!!!! And then I just went home to crash due to all the things we did (and our pink Spartans shirt hahahahaha) 

My main point is that I'm so thankful to be part of this family that's always there for each other and willing to sacrifice time and many other things etc etc.

Like for example, today in the midst of prelims, everybody still made the effort to come down and play around, buy balloons, celebrate birthdays and go crazy together as a batch. Honestly other than you guys I haven't seen any other J2s that I know. But then again I don't know too many people from hwachong hahahaha. But it's k because you guys are all I need ^_^ right??? And I really enjoyed my entire day being around you guys right from the start with the girls in the morning to the evening part where all of us gathered to celebrate Sylvester and Zhanteng's birthdays together.

 Hehe everytime I go for a run I will try to think of stuff to occupy my mind so that I don't feel tired or breathless so quickly and it's always back to what my life would have been without Spartans or to join another cca in school. Btw I've never really been able to imagine my life like that :/ It would've been so incomplete I think!!!

And the best part of us is that we're seriously going to Taiwan together!!! Omg it's seriously a dream come true. Actually truthfully speaking, in the past whenever we talked about going overseas together, (remember before June?) hahaha it's always been a sketchy thing like how we can't decide on a place, not everyone's gonna be free and stuff so I was really really skeptical about whether it was really going to happen in the end. But now that we've paid the deposits and settled the air tickets and stuff, it really does feel real!!! Can't wait for it to happen and all of us go crazy together in Taiwan hehehehe.

Ahh sorry for the late post! I fell asleep while the computer was starting up yesterday and got magically transported to my bed kkkkk Anyway, my initial image idea was to use a Whipped Cream Monster... but I couldn't find one so I decided to steal Lum Yi's! kkkkkkk 

When I saw this pic, I was stunned. I thought no one took photos of yesterday! Looks like we created too big a scene and some passerby snapped a photo of you :O Ah well, at least they had the decency to duplicate you to make you seem less lonely! I must applaud their amazing photoshop skills!

the earliest birthday post EVER

kkkkkkkk Happyblog's doing a really really really early post just after her super super late post (sorry Jeremy, you know you're awesome right? kkkk)... what a thrilling juxtaposition!  But actually there's a special reason why I posted so early for today's Birthday boy.....

Wow mystery and suspense! kkkkkk In the midst of a television series (Ghost), Happyblog has been inspired to be more mysterious from now on ;) Also, I'm trying to develop a new comparative advantage in the face of rising competition from certain blogs who don't appreciate Happyblog's presence

I'm sure all of you are wondering, why the picture of band-aids with ice cream designs? Well, those aren't mere plasters, they're skateboards! Yep, I know 'cos I googled it myself ^^

Yep so on to the significance of the ice-cream-decorated skateboards! Firstly, if the number of stickers on Shen Yee's bottle are of any indication, Island Creamery has certainly found one of its biggest fans ^^ kkkkkkkkk I remember that as his angel, the only thing I did, besides singing endless praises about his magnificence Bingru's such a good boy ^^, was to keep treating him to Island kkkkk And I bet you anything that his current angel's going to treat him to ice cream too! Okay, you know what? I take back the bet. I've been making stupid bets with people lately :( I just made one with Lumyi and now I can't watch more than two episodes of Ghost tonight :(

Anywayyyy, the most important reason is that our dear Birthday Boy is always one of the FASTEST to reply my MaSS (Mass Spartan SMS kkkk)! If I'm not wrong, he always comes in the top 5!
